The origins of Albano Castle are rooted in the 10th century, when it was already mentioned among the first parishes of the Vercelli church.
Its strategic location made it a coveted asset, passing from hand to hand among important families and institutions.
Its most illustrious owners include Federico Barbarossa, who donated it to the Church of Vercelli in 1152, recognizing its strategic and religious value.
Later, the castle was owned by the Counts of Biandrate and, finally, by the City of Vercelli, to whom it was given by Count Ottone of Guido IV along with other properties.
